I went out to the meadow at dawn this morning, hoping for more sunrise pictures, but the conditions weren't good for that - no mist or atmosphere, just clouds and dull light.
So I shot some coneflowers, and then when I turned around to see where the sun was coming up, I saw these two monarch butterflies on a meadow blazing star flower. They had spent the night there, and because it was still cool, they stayed in place for a good long time - lucky for me.
Great - not one but two monarchs on the beautiful meadow liatris.

Lucky you Yvonne! Hopefully they'll have a safe trip south!
